The Michigan Mineralogical Society (MMS), proudly presents the mineralogical event of the year. Sponsored by the prestigious Cranbrook Institute of Science, the Show is held at the Macomb Community College South Campus/Expo Center. The event will attract collectors, families, school classes and professionals from all over the Midwest. The Show is the premier event for anyone who enjoys the beauty of gems and minerals, the wonder of fossils and the handcrafted jewelry by wonderful artisans. World renowned universities and museums will bring their collections for all to see. Presentations, speakers, and hands-on demonstrations occur all weekend. Vendors offer supplies and specimens for the beginner to the experienced collector. For children, there is a photo opportunity with the dinosaur Kosmoceratops, cracking geodes, panning for gold, and digging for gems and fossils. The Show hours are: Friday, October 13 from 9 am – 6 pm; Saturday, October 14 from 10 am – 7 pm; Sunday, October 15 from 11 am – 5 pm.
