agriCULTURE: Barnyards and Farmscapes

The Glen Arbor Arts Center presents agriCULTURE: Barnyards and Farmscapes, a juried exhibition exploring the interconnections of food, farming and community through the lenses of art, architecture, film, history and theater. agriCULTURE opens Friday, September 14 with a reception from 6 – 8 pm. The show runs through November 1. agriCULTURE zeros in on the lore and culture of barnyards and farmstead life. Through a series of companion programs, the exhibition acts as a springboard for explorations of the historic role of barns in the region, how agriculture defines the region’s character, what are examples of some current small farm practices. agriCULTURE is supported in part by the Michigan Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 am - 4 pm through September, then 9 am - 2 pm; and weekends noon - 4 pm.
