See history come alive at Historic Charlton Park in Hastings during the annual Civil War Muster on July 19-20. Interpreters and craftspeople will be stationed in the historic village, with fashion, medical, artillery, and cavalry demonstrations throughout both days. Visitors are invited to view afternoon battles in the historic village both days. Plus, you are encouraged to talk with re-enactors and walk through the Military and Civilian Camps.
The public is welcome to join the evening festivities on Saturday and enjoy live music and square dancing on the Village Green, followed by cannons firing over the Thornapple River. On Sunday, the Carlton Center Church at Historic Charlton Park will host a traditional worship service.
Visitors can shop at Sutler’s Row, where vendors offer reproduction and handmade civil war-era merchandise for purchase, including clothing, household goods, and toys. Food vendors will be onsite to satisfy hungry patrons. Please bring blankets, ear protection and lawn chairs for seating during the battles. All times are subject to change and weather dependent. Admission is $5 for adults, Kids 12 and under are free.
