The 4th Annual Idlewild weekend events include presenters who will discuss the historic impact of Idlewild, Michigan. A Special Guest presentation by Idlewild's original Fiesta Doll Dancer, Ms. Carlean Gill; returning to Idlewild from Texas. Additionally, we will host guest speakers from the Board of Directors for Federation of State Humanities, Gloria White Gardner and (retired) Judge Marilyn Atkins. Live music presentations will be a catalyst to help educate and engage youth and adults in the rich history and impact of Historic Idlewilds’ culture. Ten-year-old youth drumming sensation Maurice Fears, Jr.; violinist Nadia Johnson and vocalist Rene Lowe with a musical tribute to the late Della Reese; book signing, music tribute and presentation by Brenda and Tony Wilson, daughter and son of the late great Jackie Wilson.

We will host vendors for shopping, food and guided tours. This weekend event is made possible in part by our sponsors: Express Employment Professionals, BetterMade Snacks,
