Before the invention of the camera, people who couldn't afford to have their portrait painted, used scraps of black paper to cut a silhouette of their profile. Though featureless, the silhouette became a true representation of the person. Learn how to make a silhouette and take home a new picture of yourself.

We've created some great opportunities for children with their adult companions to have fun and learn about history. See all 2017 Kids' Stuff programs.

Today's program is presented by Friends of Walker Tavern
