Burt Lake State Park is located in the northern half of the Lower Peninsula. The State Park allows for many different activities, including swimming, fishing, picnicking, boat access, biking and hiking. The foot trail in the park is 1-mile long and winds along the shores of Burt Lake through sandy, beach and wetland terrain. Due to the length of the journey, the hike is perfect for families with children who are visiting the area. Hiking and cross-country skiing are allowed on the trail, however the trails are not groomed in the winter.
