Flat River Historical Society and Museum

The Flat River Historical Museum is conveniently located just a block from downtown Greenville, right next to the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail along the river and across the street from Tower Riverside Park, the historic location where Greenville founder John Green first settled in 1844! You can park in the lot behind the museum and stroll the brick pathways through the picturesque Victorian Garden with its own artifacts and waterfall. Inside the museum are three floors of exhibits including hands-on activities for the kids. The main floor features a chronological history of the Greenville area and community while the second floor invites visitors to reminisce as they stroll the storefronts of early 1900 Greenville. The lower level displays home and agricultural artifacts, as well as realistic blacksmith, carpenter and harness shops. The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays, April to November, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. No admission fee, but donations are appreciated.
