Roger Harvey's paintings focus on the changing seasonal landscapes Michiana offers--from the shores of Lake Michigan to local farmland to the banks of the St. Joseph and Galien Rivers. Harvey's graphic arts background is apparent in the composition of many of his landscapes and how he uses color to define space and explore distance.
The gallery’s fourth season opens with the eagerly anticipated New Works Show. Each year Harvey unveils a new body of work of large landscapes in acrylic. His paintings employ a bold palate with a dynamic play of light and shadow. As Harbor Country’s pre-eminent colorist, Roger creates works that have been described as “vibrant, joyful, elegant portrayals of nature, certain to stir even the most urban soul.”
Also on display are the limited edition Giclée prints of Harbor Country local landscape photographer Tim Rogers. Tim blends his digital photography with “Giclée” and “Pigment" photo printing technology producing beautiful limited edition landscape prints that capture the peaceful serenity of the surrounding area.
His photographic tribute to the beauty and simplicity of Harbor Country will captivate your feelings for the area he calls home. Harbor Country’s rustic yet peaceful surroundings compliment his graphic background and allow him to capture his love of perspective, color and natural contrasts.
