Wagner Falls Scenic Site is located just 1.5 miles south of Munising. A .1-mile packed-gravel trail and boardwalk with a few stairs leads from a small parking area to an observation platform overlooking Wagner Falls (.25 miles round-trip). There are no restrooms and no water, so please plan accordingly. Pets are welcome but must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.
The North Country Trail follows M-94 at Wagner Falls and enters the Hiawatha National Forest 2 miles west of the scenic site. This national scenic trail hiking route from North Dakota to New York includes more than 1,500 miles in Michigan.
Before visiting a state park, boating site or
trail, it’s always a good idea to check the latest closures due to
weather-related events, planned improvement projects and repairs. Visit Michigan.gov/DNRClosures.
