From the shores of Saginaw Bay and up around the Thumb of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, the east central region of the state is rich with family-friendly destinations as well as a bounty of hidden gems.

Whether visiting the Flint Cultural Center or taking part in the chicken dinners and waterparks of Frankenmuth, family members of all ages will be delighted by the attractions and events throughout this region. Unique experiences, like sailing on a tall ship in Bay City or celebrating cheeseburgers in Caseville, will create memories that last a lifetime.

There is plenty to experience in the way of natural beauty as well, whether touring the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, traversing the Blueways of St. Clair or visiting some of the many lighthouses found along the Lake Huron shoreline. And with local farms resplendent throughout the region, fresh produce and local dishes are always on the menu in east central Michigan.
