What is the benefit of posting your event, property, deal/package to the website?

Our goal is to attract visitors near and far to spend their vacation in Michigan. With the help from the industry, you can help us achieve this goal! Posting your unique, ordinary, like no other tourism-related property, event, deal/package on the website will give visitors the boost to visit and experience your area. This handout advises Community Resources for the Tourism Industry.

Is there a fee?

No. Posting your property, event, deal/package is absolutely FREE. So if you have more than one fun, cannot miss, amazing event—post them! If you own a few different properties that visitors must experience—post them! If you have more than one deal or package that is too good to be true—post them! There are no limits to posting, as long as each listing meets the guidelines. 

How do I submit my event, property, deal/package?

I’m glad you asked! If this is your first time submitting a listing, you will need to create a one-time, free account at and click “Request a New Account”. Having the account will allow you to login anytime to make changes or updates to your postings. Once you are logged into your account, the left-hand navigation will guide you to each section you would like to review or make changes to. You can refer to our step-by-step instruction guide for all the “how to’s”.

Guidelines for Adding Events and Properties

  1. Event/Property must attract travelers from outside of the community’s vicinity (e.g. 50-mile radius) and must be tourism-related.
  2. Events we do not approve are:
    - Fundraisers
    - Charity events
    - Camps/Retreats
    - Conferences/Seminars
    - Workshops/Classes
    - Community based events (i.e. Storytimes, Book Clubs, Community 5Ks)
  3. Event/Property must be open to the general public and be unique to Michigan (Chain Restaurants and Stores, etc. will be denied).
  4. Each Event and Property listing must include:
  • Complete address (no P.O. Boxes).
  • A complete and detailed description in paragraph form. No itineraries or agendas.
  • Contact information including website, email, phone number, social media accounts.
  • Tax Identification number (for properties ONLY).
  • Photo(s) that relates to your property (no logos or cartoon images). All images MUST have permission from the photographer and/or owner to be used on the website.

Guidelines for Adding Deals/Packages

  1. Deal/Package must attract to the general traveler—must be tourism-related.
  2. Deal/Package cannot exceed more than 120 days.
  3. Deal/Package must be listed on your website with reservation information.
  4. Property of deal/package must have a property listing on the website.
  5. Each deal/package must contain:
  • Title
  • Website
  • Phone number
  • Description
  • Date(s) of deal/package
  • Display date(s) of deal/package. Display dates are when travelers can view the deal/package on the website.

The words “Pure Michigan” or the logo cannot be used in an Event, Property or Deal/Package title or description as the words “Pure Michigan” and the logo are trademarked and owned by the MEDC. You can request the use of the logo at

Allow up to 2 business days for the review and approval process. We recommend events be submitted at least 30 days in advance.

Any edits to listings, events and deals could take up to 24 hours before you see the changes that you made.

Extranet Account Set-Up

First time setting up an account, visit and click on “Request a New Account.” This may take up to 24 hours in order for you to receive notice that you are set up and able to login. From there, visit the link in the email or go to password reset page ( and proceed as directed.

Resetting your password, visit and enter your email address to receive a link to reset your password. Moving forward, your email address is your username.
