Kick off 2026 with a refreshing hike on the Hickory Ridge Hiking Trail in Island State Recreation Area. As they say, life is better outside, so start your year off right with a First Day Hike.
Suitable for all skill levels, this hike is perfect for everyone. Snowshoers are welcome, but hiking boots are also appropriate. Depending on the weather, hikers can choose from a 2.5-mile exit or a whole 5-mile trek, accommodating both casual participants and those seeking a longer adventure. Please arrive 15 minutes early as the hike will start on time.
