Intimate Apparel tells the poignant story of Esther, a 35-year-old seamstress in early 1900s New York City. Set against the backdrop of Esther's dreams of opening a beauty parlor, the play explores themes of gender roles, race, and the complexities of intimate relationships. Intimate Apparel invites audiences to reflect on the persistent challenges women, particularly women of color, face in their pursuit of love and independence.
