Beaver Island Retreat presents guest Dark Sky Speakers and Presenters at events located at the Retreat grounds and various locations on the island.
Designed to create awareness and educate about Dark Sky Preservation, the first annual festival features think stargazing, telescope viewing and guidance to the Beaver Island State Wildlife Research Area International Dark Sky Sanctuary and the many dark sky viewing locations on Beaver Island.
Featuring Dark Sky Chapter leaders, DarkSky International dark sky park and dark sky community directors, plus astronomers and local guides, there will be dark sky events each night. From "dusking" hike events to Family night, this festival offers all things dark sky under the skies of one of only 23 international dark sky sanctuaries in the world, and one of Ten Michigan Dark Sky Places.
