The Dr. Sullivan and Mrs. Richie Jean Sherrod Jackson Home is a unique time capsule documenting the inspiring story of a courageous family and community at the forefront of one of the most momentous movements in U.S. history: the Selma to Montgomery marches of 1965. Inside this home, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders made historic plans to ensure that all Americans would have the civil rights and voting rights promised to them. Relocated from Selma, Alabama, the Jackson Home will open in Greenfield Village this June, becoming the first home to be added to the village in more than 40 years.
At The Henry Ford, you'll discover America - its culture, inventions, people and can-do spirit - and hundreds of hands-on ways to explore it, enjoy it and be inspired by it.
