Historic Birch Lodge is situated on almost 20 acres of woods, lawn and beach with about 1/4 mile of frontage on Big Trout Lake. Birch Lodge was constructed in 1911 as a tuberculosis hospital and has undergone a complete restoration. The property is listed on the National Registry of Historic places and offers 12 suites in the restored Lodge. Additionally, the grounds of Birch Lodge houses a mid-century motel with picture windows of the lake, complete with originally furnishings and augmented amenities. No matter what season, Birch Lodge and Resort provides easy access to the adventures of the Upper Peninsula. The property operates 10 months annually, closing for maintenance in November and April.
