The museum's main red-brick building, which was built in 1902 as a depot and substation for one of West Michigan's electric interurban railways, houses extensive railroad displays, along with early business, household, and military exhibits. The museum also houses memorabilia on Coopersville rock-and-roll star Del Shannon. The early settlers building commemorates early settlement of the area with a sawmill, model railroad, tools, logging items, and schoolroom.
