One of the better known Marshall dwellings with Greek Revival influences is the Governor's Mansion. This mansion was built in 1839, in anticipation that Marshall would become the State Capitol of Michigan. Currently the home of the Mary Marshall Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Marshall Historical Society. Summer hours open Sundays through Labor Day 1 - 5 pm; other times by appointment.

Interesting history
This was a great place to visit and learn more about the history of Marshall; including the plans to be the state capitol and why that didn't happen.

Step back in time
I enjoy touring the museum.The mansion has been restored to take you back to when it was built. The individuals who volunteer do a great job and are knowledgable about its history.
