The Hadley Mill that stands today as a prominent landmark in Hadley was built in 1874 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Now a museum, it welcomes visitors to explore three floors of agricultural and domestic artifacts from Hadley and Elba Townships’ past and watch a demonstration of the engine that used to operate the Mill. The Museum Shop sells locally themed merchandise and books on local history.
The Hadley Mill Museum is situated in the lovely Hartwig Park where a covered bridge crosses Mill Creek and leads to a picnic pavilion. It is located at 3633 Hadley Road just south of the intersection of Pratt and Hadley Roads.
In 2024 the Museum will be open June 1 (9:00-3:00), July 4 (9:00-3:00), August 10 (9:00-3:00) and September 13 (4:00-9:00). However, the Museum can be opened by special arrangement for private groups or individuals. Please email the Hadley Township Historical Society at [email protected].
