One of a very few authentic Japanese teahouses in the United States. The Tea House was built in 1985-86 as as a symbol of friendship and cultural exchange with Saginaw's Sister City, Tokushima, Japan. Tea ceremony is the 2nd Saturday of each month. It also offers garden and teahouse tours daily and a variety of programs and festivals showcasing Japanese arts and culture attracting thousands of visitors from the Great Lakes and Bay Regions and beyond.

Lovely afternoon at the tea room
We had a lovely experience visiting the tea room. Our guide was personable and engaging. She spent extra time with us and her love of this cultural center shined through.

They don't honor your purchased tickets.
Don't have a natural disaster because they won't honor your Tea Ceremony tickets...they'll make you pay again for tickets...is this a representation of Japanese Culture and how they respond to people...

Gardens tour and tea
We had a tea house and tea tour. I believe our docent was Mandy. She did a stellar job. What a great hidden gem. All locals and tourist should go.
