F.J. Mclain State Park is located in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula on the shores of Lake Superior. The hiking and cross country ski trail located in the park is 4 miles long and attracts hikers and skiers alike, especially during the winter months as it offers incredible views of the ice formations along the shores of Lake Superior. The terrain varies from flat, open spaces to wooded hills and oftentimes offers scenic views of Lake Superior. Hiking and cross country skiing are allowed on the trail year-round, weather permitting.
