William Mitchell State Park is a popular camping, fishing and boating destination. The 660-acre park is situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, providing excellent opportunities to view a variety of wildlife. The quarter-mile Clam Lake Canal connects the two lakes.
The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Park can be accessed from the park on the east side of Lake Cadillac. The trail utilizes a network of trails, sidewalks and road shoulders that follow the Lake Cadillac shoreline.
The Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center in the park features interpretive displays about the history of hunting and fishing in Michigan. The center includes both archery and pellet gun ranges, offers scheduled shooting programs throughout the summer and offers group tours and guided hikes.
