Otsego Lake State Park, home to 62 acres of lakeside recreation, is a popular family destination located near Gaylord and easily accessed from I-75. The park is known for its beautiful, half-mile sandy beach, and the popular boat launch provides excellent access for motorized and nonmotorized watercraft.
The park is heavily shaded with large oak, maple and pine trees and is home to large campsites near or within lake views. The day-use area features an accessible swimming beach, fishing pier, quarter-mile pathway and picnic area with tables and grills. The Iron Belle Trail runs past the park entrance and offers biking, hiking and snowmobiling.
After a day on the lake, the seasonal park store is a popular destination for visitors to get ice cream and enjoy the sunset over the lake. Other concessions, firewood, ice, souvenirs and boat rentals (kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards) are also available.
Before visiting a state park, boating site or trail, it’s always a good idea to check the latest closures due to weather-related events, planned improvement projects and repairs. Visit Michigan.gov/DNRClosures.
