Campfire Glass Adventure Class

The Glass Academy
25331 Trowbridge Street,
Dearborn, MI 48124

This is the perfect class for your first, easy and fun, hand’s on glass adventure.

Choose your theme:

Flower: Pull a molten blob of glass into a free-formed flower with a twisted stem
Paperweight: Poke, pull and twist assorted colors into swirls of patterns to create this round orb.

Big Bubble Blow: Glassblowing on your list? Then this is the FUN way to release all your hot air and see how big you can really blow the bubble. As the glass becomes paper thin, it’s a great chance for a photo op before you crush it in the studio recycle bin. While no actual product is made to take home with the Big Bubble Blow, all the science you learn when doing this will keep you excited and engaged.

Coin: Using a bronze stamp, push and indent the molten glass blob into a flat disk with a D on it for Detroit.

This class runs approximately 1.5 hours (depending on the number of customers in class). In addition to your project you will receive a teacher demonstration, tour of the studio, time to shop in the gallery, and if you’re lucky, an introduction to the studio cat, Batch.

*Please note: The glass must cool from 1200 degrees to room temperature after crafting. 48 hours after your class, your project will be available for pickup in the studio gallery. Shipping is available.
