Get ready for a weekend of frosty artistry and festive fun! The City of Hancock, in collaboration with Visit Keweenaw, is thrilled to announce its inaugural Snow Sculpting Invitational, taking place Friday, February 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25, 2026, on Quincy Green, 417 Quincy Street in downtown Hancock. This premier event will feature four teams of talented snow sculptors, including the renowned Sculptora Borealis, whose team members have won the National Snow Sculpting title four times, in six appearances over the last seven years, and Team USA, winners of the Bronze medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics and two-time National Snow Sculpting title winners.
Event Schedule on Quincy Green:
- Friday, Feb. 23: Team Arrivals at Noon
- Sculpting Competition Begins in the afternoon
- Saturday, Feb. 24: Sculpting Competition Continues all day
- Sunday, Feb. 25: Final Sculpting: Morning
- Tools Down: Early afternoon
- Judging and Deliberation: Following completion
- Winner Announcement: 2:00 p.m.
Also, the Hancock Business Association (HBA) invites the community to participate in a snowman/snow person building contest, welcoming residents and businesses to showcase their creativity while setting the stage for the main snow sculpting competition.
