Over the past ten years, Michigan has become universally recognized as "America's Summer Golf Capital" because the area offers such a large quantity of quality golf. In addition to the thrilling nature of the golf, Michigan is home to several popular golf schools.

Boyne USA is home to the popular Boyne Golf School, which offers classes for adults, juniors and professionals at its Boyne Highlands as well as its Boyne Mountain resorts..

Treetops Resort, in Gaylord, is home to one of the leading golf instructors in the world, Rick Smith, who is also a part owner and the managing partner. The Rick Smith Golf Academy has drawn mainstream golfers and PGA Tour players to its exceptional golf instruction program.

Brad Dean, PGA director of golf at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, has overseen the Crystal Mountain Golf School since its creation in 1994. The Crystal Mountain Golf School earned national recognition by Golf Magazine as one of "Americas Top 25 Golf Schools".

The Homestead Resort, on the Leelanau Peninsula, is home to the Dave Pelz Short Game School. It is one of only six locations in the world offering The Dave Pelz Short Game School. Operating under the theory that golfers most often drive up their scores within 100 yards of the hole, the school focuses on the short game and putting.

Other top golf schools in northern Michigan include the the Golf Academy at Grand Traverse Resort and the Ladies Golf Acedemy atGarland Resort.
