This after-hours event is lit up by incredible pumpkin displays and features festive performances, demonstrations and activities from centuries past. If you’re visiting with little ones, the daytime activities are perfect for the whole family. After dark, the village takes on a more ghostly and spooky ambiance. Zoo BooDetroit

Experience festive celebrations and spooky-themed activities throughout the entire Detroit Zoo this October. Haunted Quincy Smelter ToursHancock

If you’re looking for a frightful experience, visit the Quincy Mine Smelter in Hancock for a haunted tour. The once-booming Quincy Smelting Works created copper ingots in the Upper Peninsula throughout the 1900s. This historical site – which some might find spooky enough after dark – will be decorated for a haunting experience delivering jump scares and frights to all who dare to enter.

Oct. 27, 2023

Explore Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids and watch professionals carve giant pumpkins weighing more than 1,000 pounds. The event is free to attend with candy, pumpkins and photo opportunities set against a festive backdrop. Before and after the event, check out a variety of museums for all ages as well as incredible breweries serving up beers that celebrate the flavors of the harvest season.

Mackinac Island already takes visitors back to a simpler time all year with car-free streets and a picturesque downtown.
