Manistique in Winter

Come to the beautiful Manistique area and experience scenery, four seasons of recreation and history. The harbor town of Manistique is located on the Lake Michigan shoreline in the beautiful Upper Peninsula and surrounded by state and national forest land for great recreational opportunities.

While you are here, take a stroll on the boardwalk along Lake Michigan. Follow the path to the pier and check out the East Breakwater Lighthouse. We offer various dining and shopping that are along the way. Camping, kayaking, and fishing are popular pastimes. We can’t guarantee you will catch a fish, but you will certainly enjoy trying. Visit our newest UP resident, Benny the Beard Fisher at the Germfask Campground. Trolls may live in the UP after all!

Historical sites to visit include Palms Book State Park, Seul Choix Point Lighthouse in Gulliver and Fayette State Park in Garden just to name a few. This area is rich with stories that date to the day of the dinosaurs and there are a few ghost stories as well.
