Michigan Ice Fest, the largest ice climbing festival in the Midwest, takes place in Munising every February. Our multitude of incredible waterfalls and porous sandstone cliffs make the sport possible. Ice typically forms along the Pictured Rocks shoreline, Grand Island, and numerous waterfalls late December through early April.
