The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park has 60,000 acres of virgin forest; Lake of the Clouds, one of the most scenic spots in all of Michigan; and Summit Peak, one of the highest points in Michigan.There are miles of sandy beaches at Union Bay for swimming and agate hunting. For history buffs, there are self-guided trails to old mining sites on the Union Mine Scenic Trail. Visit Old Carp Lake Mine or hike the historic Carp Lake Stamp mill site.
